Location: Scottish Gas Murrayfield, Edinburgh
Contract: Casual, Event-Based
Join the Team for the 2026 Autumn Internationals
We're recruiting reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Event Build & Break Staff to join our team at Scottish Gas Murrayfield for Scotland's huge 2026 Autumn International fixtures.
Be part of the team working behind the scenes to prepare one of the UK's most iconic rugby stadiums as Scotland welcome New Zealand, Australia and Japan to Edinburgh this November.
You'll have the opportunity to support the delivery of the following fixtures:
- Scotland v New Zealand – Saturday 7 November 2026
- Scotland v Australia – Sunday 15 November 2026
- Scotland v Japan – Saturday 21 November 2026
Unlike our customer-facing matchday roles, Event Build & Break is all about getting the venue ready before the crowds arrive and helping return it to operational readiness following each event.
You'll work as part of a busy operations team preparing bars, catering outlets and event areas across Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
With opportunities to work at other major sporting events, festivals and live venues across the UK, there are plenty of opportunities to continue working with Freemans Event Partners throughout the year.
The Role:
As part of our Event Build & Break Team, you'll support the setup and breakdown of our food and beverage operations across Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
The role involves physical, hands-on work including moving equipment and stock, setting up service areas and ensuring everything is in the right place and ready for matchday.
Following events, you'll help break down operational areas, organise equipment and prepare stock and infrastructure for collection, storage or the next event.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the build and setup of bars, catering outlets and service areas.
- Move and position equipment, stock and event infrastructure.
- Unload and distribute deliveries across the stadium.
- Assist with stocking bars and catering outlets ahead of matchday.
- Set up counters, equipment and operational areas ready for service.
- Follow build plans and instructions from supervisors and managers.
- Help ensure all areas are safe, organised and ready before event opening.
- Support the breakdown of bars and catering areas following events.
- Pack, move and organise equipment and remaining stock.
- Assist with loading vehicles and preparing equipment for transport or storage.
- Maintain clean and organised working areas.
- Follow all manual handling, health & safety and site procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the wider operations and logistics teams.
About You:
We're looking for people who:
- Are reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Are comfortable undertaking physical and hands-on work.
- Are able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Can follow instructions and work safely in a busy environment.
- Have a positive, proactive approach to work.
- Are comfortable being on their feet and moving equipment throughout a shift.
- Have previous event build, logistics, warehouse or operations experience (preferred but not essential).
- Understand the importance of safe manual handling practices.
- Are flexible with availability, as build and break shifts may take place before and after matchdays.
What You'll Receive:
- Flexible, event-based work around your availability.
- The opportunity to work behind the scenes at Scottish Gas Murrayfield during Scotland's 2026 Autumn Internationals.
- Hands-on experience supporting the delivery of major international sporting events.
- A fast-paced, energetic and supportive team environment.
- Valuable experience within event operations and logistics.
- Opportunities to work at some of the UK's biggest sporting events, festivals and venues with Freemans Event Partners.
