Contract Type: Temporary Event-Based Role
Dates: 16 June - 20 June (must be available for all dates)
Essential Requirement: Must hold a valid Personal Licence
Pay: £16 - £20ph depending on experience and bar size

About the Role

As a Bar Manager, you’ll oversee busy bar operations across public bars, and premium event spaces, ensuring guests receive outstanding service from gates open to the final race.

You’ll lead large teams, drive service standards, and play a key role in delivering exceptional race day experiences at one of the most renowned racecourses in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Lead and manage bar operations within your allocated bar.
  •  Motivate, brief, and support bar supervisors and front-line staff teams. 
  •  Deliver fast, efficient, high-quality service during peak trading periods. 
  •  Manage stock levels, controls, and minimise wastage. 
  •  Ensure licensing compliance, Challenge 25, and health & safety standards are maintained. 
  •  Handle customer queries and operational challenges professionally and confidently. 
  •  Coordinate closely with event operations and senior management teams. 
  •  Deliver team briefings and maintain high staff morale throughout the event. 
  •  Ensure all cash handling and reporting procedures are followed accurately. 
  •  Maintain exceptional presentation and premium hospitality standards at all times. 
About You
We’re looking for confident leaders who love the excitement of live events and know how to bring energy, organisation, and professionalism to busy hospitality environments.

Essential:
  •  Must hold a valid Personal Licence. 
  •  Previous experience managing bars at major events, racecourses, festivals, stadiums, or high-volume venues. 
  •  Strong leadership and team management skills. 
  •  Excellent organisational and communication abilities. 
  •  Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure. 
  •  Knowledge of licensing laws and health & safety standards. 
  •  A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for great service. 
Desirable:
  •  Experience in sporting events or premium hospitality environments. 
  •  Experience with stock management and EPOS systems. 
  •  First aid qualification. 
  •  Experience managing VIP or hospitality bar environments.
